There are numerous benefits to becoming a member of the
Association.
We hold regular meetings and social events to provide
dialogue between our members and liaison with the local
community and government bodies.
Tourism operators and service providers are often invited
to attend in order to advise the Association of their products
and services and keep us up to date with relevant information.
These meetings and socials are opportunities to network
with other owners and enable our group to become familiar
with other members properties and the range and style of
the accommodation they offer.
This in turn, enables and ad hoc referral system to take
place, if any member gets a prospective booking enquiry
they cant fill then they are able to refer that prospect
to another member who possibly can.
Communications via email between members is encouraged
and you will be provided with a full list of addresses
of current paid up voting members. There is also a small
list of social only ex full members who still participate
in some of the social events.
The Association has an internet website which lists all
members on their own page, with a detailed description
of the property, services, rates, contact information,
etc, and a direct link to your own website.
There are pictorial references, a map of Port Stephens
with your place marked, and with zoom in capability showing
all locations and descriptions of the area and establishment.
The website is the primary marketing tool for the association,
data can be monitored and each member has the ability to
easily make changes to their page and are given an access
code upon being listed.
A fee is charged for initial set up on the site by David
Stringer, of ASK Stringer, the Association pays for the
annual hosting charges and various upgrades as they become
necessary.
To qualify for membership you must have approval to operate
from Port Stephens Council, appropriate insurance, and
a desire to maintain the professional standards of the
Association. We are a small incorporated association and
the board and committee structure implement the day to
day running on a voluntary basis, things only happen if
members are positively involved and contributing towards
any particular projects.
